Groundbreaking Friday, November 30th @ 1PM

MCCORDSVILLE, INDIANA (November 26, 2018) – The Geist Montessori Academy School Board, joined by members of the McCordsville Town Council, will break ground on its new $6 million, 37,000 SF school facility this Friday at 1 PM. The ceremony will take place at 6058 West County Road 900 North in McCordsville.

Founded in 2006, Geist Montessori Academy is an accredited public charter school authorized by Ball State University. It serves children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade that live in Hancock County and surrounding areas. Founded by a group of local parents, Geist Montessori Academy focuses on providing a culturally rich educational environment where children acquire knowledge in a non-competitive, individualized manner.

Scheduled for completion in the fall of 2019, the facility will enable Geist Montessori Academy to combine two campuses into one facility. It will also meet the school’s need for additional space to accommodate future growth. In addition to classroom space for Kindergarten, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle and Special Education students, the facility will include a gymnasium, an art and science room plus dedicated space for music instruction. The main office will  house office space, a conference room and kitchen area.

Locally based Lauth Group, Inc. is serving as the project’s construction manager. Patterson Horth is the general contractor for the building, which was designed by the architectural firm of Lancer + Beebe, LLC.

Parking on-site is limited.  If possible, please park at Geist Community Church, located at 6697 W 900 N, McCordsville, IN 46055, and carpool.
