Overview: K–8 Admissions
Geist Montessori Academy is a tuition-free public charter school, funded by the state of Indiana and authorized by Ball State University. Parents and guardians of children anywhere in the state are eligible to submit an application. A lottery will be held to fill open spots if the number of applications received during Open Enrollment exceeds the number of spots available.
Current students of Geist Montessori Academy do not need to submit an application for enrollment every year, however, parents are required to indicate their student’s intent to return by completing the re-enrollment process held in March or April.

Our enrollment policy prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, gender, national origin, religion, or need for special education services.
Overview: Pre-K Admissions
Geist Montessori Academy Pre-K is a private, tuition-based early childhood program under the leadership of Geist Montessori Academy Administration and Board of Directors. Students of Geist Montessori Academy Pre-K are welcome to submit an application once they are eligible for kindergarten. Admission to Geist Montessori Academy is not guaranteed.
K–8 Admissions
As a public charter school, Geist Montessori Academy accepts applications for enrollment throughout the year, as space allows. In the event that the number of applicants exceeds the spots available, the school will hold an annual lottery. While we believe the Montessori Method is the best pedagogy to educate children in general, we realize that it is not right for every child or family. Only New Student Applications for the 2023-2022 school year are being accepted online at this time. Open Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will begin in late January.

Pre-Kindergarten Admissions
Geist Montessori Academy Pre-K is a private, tuition-based program for children ages three through six, who are fully potty-trained. Full and half-day programs are offered five days a week, with before and aftercare available onsite through The Grove. The Pre-K offers a full curriculum that includes language, math, science, geography, sensorial, music, art, gym, and grace and courtesy. Many students from the Pre-K apply for admission to Geist Montessori Academy upon graduation.
Enrollment Checklist
Enrollment in GMA’s Pre-K program is on a first-come, first-serve basis. A waiting list is created when the program is full. To enroll a student or be placed on the waiting list, parents and/or legal guardians must submit the following forms and information:
- Application for Enrollment
- Student Health Information Form
- Tuition & Fees Form
- Copy of Original Birth Certificate
- Proof of Immunizations
- Non-Refundable $250 Deposit

Tuition Rates
Full-day tuition for the 2023-2024 school year is $9,950/year. Half-day tuition is $6,850/year. The hours for our half-day program are 8:00am-11:30am Monday-Friday and full-day hours are 8:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday. Payments can be made via check, or through our convenient online payment system. Payment plans are available in semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly installments.
